Why The Visual Edit Exists

We live in a world that’s visually saturated. From the moment we wake up to how we work, commute and unwind. Naturally, we start to absorb and recreate the same trends we see online. In the creative space, that often blurs the line between “inspiration” and just copying.
So what does design really mean now? Is it just scrolling Pinterest and putting together a nice-looking collage?

Over the past decade, I’ve been helping brands express themselves in ways that feel true and intentional. Sure, you can make something look better just by giving it a more current look, but actually designing with meaning has become harder.
Everything moves so fast. By the time you design something, someone else has already posted something similar. Maybe even using the exact same typeface.
That’s why I started The Visual Edit. A space to slow things down and bring some of my thinking forward.
This isn’t a blog about trends, and it’s definitely not a how-to on logos. It’s about how brands communicate through design, research and strategy. It’s about how creative direction moves culture. And how strong visual systems get built with intention.
I often say I’m like brand therapy. I help people figure out who they are and make sure their visuals reflect that. This space is just an extension of that work.
What you’ll find here:
Notes from behind the scenes
Process breakdowns
Design philosophies
Brand's analysis
Case Studies
Cultural signals worth paying attention to
If you care about how things look, but even more about how they feel, welcome to The Visual Edit.
Best,
RB
